Demolition and Site Clearance

Demolition of a building or structure requires careful consideration and planning. With company-owned plant and equipment, and fully trained teams both on and off-site, L A Moore Ltd undertakes controlled demolition and dismantling work to all types of structures.

Each project is carefully planned by one of our experienced project managers to meet your individual requirements.

The first step in our process is an on-site visit to determine the scope of the project and identify any special requirements. For example, we may need to protect adjacent buildings or trees. Our Institute of Demolition Engineers qualified engineer will be on hand to advise on any complex requirements. We will discuss with you the approach we plan to take and explore any issues of concern to you.

We then prepare a demolition plan. The plan contains comprehensive method statements addressing any risk elements and provides safe methods of work. We will identify the materials that are to be reclaimed, recycled, re-used or disposed of off-site. We will calculate approximate tonnages or volumes of these materials and have definite costs and final destinations for these materials.

The next step in the process is the demolition. First we remove non-structural elements of the building such as internal fixtures and fittings.  We then undertake a controlled demolition of the structure itself. Materials are sorted during the demolition process and either stored for reuse, recycled, or removed to licensed landfills. We aim to recycle over 95% of all demolition arisings.

Finally, your site is cleared and left as a blank canvas for the next stage of your project.
