Stuart Meek wins Vistry Employee of the month

Every month our client Vistry Partnerships presents an Amazon voucher of £50 to acknowledge the best performance of subcontractor’s site supervisors. This month Vistry Health & Safety director Sally Drew visited Blackberry Hill site and handed the employee of the month award to our own Stuart Meek.

Vistry Partnerships currently has over 100 live construction schemes in the UK so well done to Stuart, we’re all very proud of you! Stuart is one of our most experienced site supervisors, and has worked for L A Moore Ltd for 24 years. He is well placed to deal with the challenges of keeping everyone safe on site even during the coronavirus pandemic. We all agree his employee of the month award is well deserved.

L A Moore Ltd has been working on site at the old Blackberry Hill hospital since 2018, demolishing and soft-stripping a variety of buildings before 346 new much-needed homes are built on the site. 100 of the new homes will be affordable housing, in addition to retail and business units.

Christmas is Truly Here

Here at L A Moore Ltd we always try to do something for the less fortunate and Hannah Wall, our Contracts Administrator wanted to do something for children and the less fortunate at this time, especially as a consequence of Covid-19.

In Hannah’s own words:

So with 2020 being particularly rubbish (understatement of the year) I was browsing Facebook and saw a post from our local food bank about presents for children this Christmas. I’ll admit that got me! Now I know how fortunate I am to not have had to use a food bank so far and to still have my job so  I wondered what I could do help. So I reached out to our local community for money or donations of presents. And it exploded. I collected 3 (yes 3!!) car loads full to bursting full of wonderful items which were wrapped and delivered to our wonderful food bank in Wells.

Donated presents boxed up ready for transfer to Wells food bank

The kind donations I have received include £100 in vouchers (from L A Moore Ltd), £50 worth of Christmas goodies (cakes, selection boxes, Christmas puds, biscuits). Books, make up, gift sets, toys, clothes, decorations, golden oldies gifts, puzzles, stocking filler toys, colouring books. EVERYTHING that could be for a present. And the best news is I’ve shown the food bank what I have been gifted and they’ve said every family they have on their books will receive a present and I’m made up. To take that worry off a struggling parents back is the best present I could ask for. I am truly humbled by the generosity of people in our community. So from the bottom of my Christmas loving heart  I truly thank you ALL who have donated.
